ABOUT US
Al and Luan Kysar began their adventure together in 1952 on one heck of a wild ride! Over the next seven decades, they worked together to build a family, fight for our country, farm the land, and give back to nature. They were true stewards of the land and took conservation and animal habitat very seriously. As a result, their three children, nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren have the same respect for the land and wildlife.
In 2005, pheasant hunting brought Al and his son Kurt to Regent, North Dakota. Al fell in love with the land and the people. So, the family decided to purchase 160 acres along with the homestead and Al and Luan made the trek from Missouri to North Dakota. Over the next several years, they added five other parcels of land, now totaling just over 1,500 acres of superb pheasant hunting ground. Al, a combat veteran and retired Army Lt. Col, was certainly prepared for the challenge that the land would offer. The family, especially Al and Luan, implemented wildlife management programs to provide food plots, nesting cover, planted thousands of trees, created shelter belts, and molded the land to become a haven for wild pheasants and a premier haven for the hunter as well. Clearly, providing great pheasant hunting does not come easy, but it truly is a labor of love, and a lasting legacy of Al and Luan’s hard work and perseverance.
